Sharmila Tagore will act again in a Bengali film.

Because Sharmila Tagore is going to return to Bengali films after 14 long years. And behind this ‘impossible achievement’ is Rituparna Sengupta. The film will be directed by Suman Ghosh. Rituparna herself is producing the film. Apart from Sharmila and Rituparna, the film also stars Indranil Sengupta. The film was officially launched on Friday at a five-star hotel in the city. The name of the film is ‘Puratan’.
Sharmila’s last film in Bengal was Endless. Happy to return to Bengal, the actress said, “Now I really want to do a good film. I have known Rituparna for a long time. I have also seen Suman’s film. I hope we can present a good film.”
How did you convince Sharmila? Rituparna said, “Actually, I talked about the matter with Suman. Later, he read the script and agreed to discuss it with him.” On Friday, he could not attend the press conference as he was in Kargil for the outdoor shooting of the film.
Sharmila and Rituparna did not want to reveal anything about the film. He only said that the story of this film will revolve around the relationship between mother and daughter. Sharmila will play the role of mother and Rituparna will play the role of daughter. Indranil is playing the role of Rituparna’s husband in the film. The actor said, “There was no reason not to agree to such a film.” Shooting will begin on Sharmila’s birthday on December 8.
